About Me

I'm Usman Khan, an audio engineer, producer, and studio professional dedicated to helping artists transform ideas into records that connect emotionally and stand the test of time.
 

Over the past decade, I've developed my craft through a combination of formal education, professional studio experience, and independent production work. After earning my degree from Full Sail University and continuing my studies through Berklee College of Music's graduate program, I've built a workflow that combines technical precision with a deep respect for artistic vision.
 

I currently work as an Audio Engineer and Assistant Studio Manager at Stonecutter Recording Studios in Chicago, where I have the opportunity to work alongside producer and engineer Chris Steinmetz on projects spanning a wide range of genres and production styles. This experience has strengthened my understanding of not only recording and mixing, but also artist development, studio operations, and the collaborative process behind great records.

Alongside my work in commercial studios, I founded iKhan Audio as an independent production and recording practice. What began as a personal studio has evolved into a creative space where I work directly with artists, bands, songwriters, and producers throughout the recording process—from pre-production and tracking to editing, mixing, and final delivery.
 

Whether I'm engineering a full-band recording session, refining a mix, or helping an artist develop their sound, my goal remains the same: to elevate the music while preserving the identity that makes it unique.
